A warranty claim will only be considered where all of the following are satisfied:

2.1 The part was fitted by a licensed mechanic, auto electrician or licensed repair facility, and you can produce their itemised invoice or work order.

2.2 The part has not been fitted to a vehicle other than the one identified at the time of ordering.

2.3 The original ASV invoice is produced, or the ASV invoice number is identified.

2.4 All ASV identification markings, stamps, security marks and heat tags are intact and legible.

2.5 The vehicle has been serviced in line with the manufacturer’s schedule and service records can be produced on request.

2.6 You ceased operating the vehicle as soon as a fault appeared and notified ASV within 7 days of the fault appearing.

2.7 No repair, dismantling or alteration has been carried out without ASV’s prior written consent.

2.8 ASV will document a products individual unique product serial number against the invoice that the product was transacted under for identification confirmation

Every engine and gearbox supplied by ASV is fitted with a heat tag which melts at 127 degrees Celsius. If the tag is missing, altered, removed or melted, the warranty is void, as this indicates the unit has been overheated, which is not a fault of the part supplied.

Engines are supplied as long bare. Gearboxes are quoted and sold on an exchange basis. Accessories may be left attached for convenience but are not covered by this warranty. We recommend refitting the accessories from the original unit.

Before the vehicle is returned to service you must:

4.1 Fit new engine oil, oil filter, coolant and, where applicable, new timing belt or chain, water pump, thermostat, spark plugs and auxiliary belts.

4.2 Replace all external seals and gaskets, including the rear main seal, sump gasket and rocker cover gasket. Leaks from external seals and gaskets are not covered.

4.3 Flush the transmission cooler and lines before fitting to any gearbox or transmission.

4.4 Confirm oil pressure and cooling system operation before the vehicle is driven.

Failure to complete these steps voids the warranty.

Electrical and fuel system parts are supplied on a replacement basis. Where a fault is confirmed within the warranty period, ASV will replace the part. These parts cannot be returned for change of mind or incorrect ordering once removed from their packaging or fitted to a vehicle, because they cannot be resold. This clause does not limit your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.

Warranty coverage does not extend to claims relating to vibration or noise that arise once the friction product (brake pads and/or rotors) has completed the correct bedding-in process. Any manufacturing or material defect will be noticeable within this bedding-in period. Beyond this point, such symptoms are typically attributable to factors unrelated to the friction product itself — including, but not limited to, wheel balance, suspension or steering components, other brake hardware, or general vehicle condition. As these factors fall outside the manufacturing and material quality of the brake pads and/or rotors, any vibration or noise claim arising after the bedding-in period will not be considered a manufacturing or material defect of the friction product and is therefore excluded from warranty.

Note: Please refer to the manufacturer’s bedding-in instructions for the correct procedure.

7.1 Normal wear and tear, or the condition of a used part as described and accepted at the time of sale.

7.2 Consumables and service items, including belts, filters, brake pads and rotors, clutch friction plates, fluids, hoses, gaskets and seals.

7.3 Failure caused by improper installation, incorrect application, or fitting a part not suited to the vehicle. Overheating, overloading, or lack of or incorrect oil, lubricant, coolant or additive.

7.4 Failure to carry out correct maintenance or servicing.

7.5 Unauthorised repair, alteration, modification or dismantling.

7.6 Misuse, neglect, abuse or accident damage.

7.7 Damage arising from motor vehicle accident, fire, theft, flood or natural disaster.

7.8 Use of the vehicle for racing, competition, heavy cartage, towing beyond manufacturer specification or off-road use beyond the vehicle’s design.

7.9 Broken gears or burnt clutches in transmissions, gearboxes and differentials.

7.10 Wiring looms and wiring harness assemblies.

7.11 Consequential loss, including loss of income, loss of use, downtime, vehicle hire and towing, except where the Australian Consumer Law provides otherwise.

8.1 General position:

Labour, diagnosis, towing, freight, reprogramming, consumables and vehicle hire are not covered on new parts or on used parts, except as set out in clauses 7.2 and 7.3 and except where the Australian Consumer Law provides otherwise.

8.2 Labour on new & used parts:

Where a used mechanical part, engine or gearbox supplied by ASV is confirmed faulty at the time of initial installation and before the vehicle is returned to service, ASV will cover reasonable installation labour, subject to all the following:

8.2.1 ASV is notified before any rectification work starts and issues a Repair Authorisation number.

8.2.2 Labour is paid at published industry set times for the job, not actual hours worked.

8.2.3 ASV pays a maximum labour rate of $80 per hour plus GST.

8.2.4 Once the vehicle has left the workshop and returned to service, labour is no longer covered on used parts.

8.2.5 Labour on reconditioned engines and transmissions.

Reconditioned engines and transmissions carry 12 months parts and labour cover, subject to all the following:

8.3.1 All labour claims must be approved by the ASV Warranty Manager before any work starts. A Repair Authorisation number will be issued.

8.3.2 Labour is paid at published industry set times for the job, not actual hours worked. If your repairer quotes more hours than the set time, ASV pays the set time only.

8.3.3 ASV pays a maximum labour rate of $80 per hour plus GST.

8.3.4 ASV may require the vehicle to be delivered to ASV’s nominated facility for inspection and repair.

8.3.5 Diagnostic time, towing, vehicle hire, accommodation, freight, reprogramming and consumables are not covered.

9.1 Stop using the vehicle as soon as a fault appears.

9.2 Contact ASV or complete the Warranty Claim form at asv.com.au within 7 days of the fault appearing.

9.3 Provide the invoice number, part details, vehicle details, installer’s details and invoice, kilometre readings when fitted and at failure, any diagnostic scan codes, and a clear and detailed description of the fault. “Not working” is not sufficient.

9.4 Do not carry out any repair or removal until ASV has issued a Repair Authorisation number. Unauthorised repairs are at your own cost.

9.5 ASV may require the part or the vehicle to be made available for inspection, including by an ASV-nominated workshop, before a claim is determined.

9.6 ASV will assess and respond within 5 business days of receiving a completed claim application.

Where a claim is accepted, ASV will at its option repair the part, supply a replacement part of comparable specification and condition, or credit the invoiced price of the part. ASV may supply a used or reconditioned component to rectify a claim. Where a claim is denied because the purchaser contributed to the failure, ASV reserves the right to recover reasonable out-of-pocket inspection and freight costs before returning the part.
